If you’re feeling crafty, I’m going to show you how to make Easter garlands with a few simple craft materials that you might even have at home.

The first of my Easter garlands is a DIY Pompom Bunny Garland, which to be honest, is adorable year-round for a nursery, baby shower or themed birthday party. You don’t have to limit it to springtime or Easter – but it does work beautifully for Easter! Plus, it’s a great project for using up scraps of your winter yarn if you did some knitting in the winter!

The second Easter garlands idea I’m sharing with you is a DIY Felt Carrot Garland. It’s super simple to make with felt sheets from the dollar store or craft store. Kids can make it too and it can be a fun project to do together. I haven’t added any text to the carrot garland here but there is plenty of space for adhering letters to the garland, if you wanted to.

For example, “Happy Easter” would look great on the carrots. Or you could go with something punny, like “Some Bunny Loves You.”
You can cut letters with felt and glue them on or look for iron-on embroidered letters in craft stores. (Fair warning – iron letters might be a bit pricey, depending on what you want to spell out.)

So let’s get started making these soft and fuzzy springtime Easter garlands! Hang them individually or as a duo as I’ve done here and you’ve got something special because it’s handmade but also because you’ll be able to reuse these Easter garlands for years!

DIY Pompom Bunny Garland
Materials
- Pompom maker
- White yarn
- Small back pompoms
- White felt
- Pink felt
- Glue gun
- Scissors
Steps
- Use a pompom maker and white yarn to make six white pompoms. When taking off the pompom from the maker, cut sufficient string at the top for tying onto the garland later. If you haven’t used a pompom maker before, check out my previous post Eid al Adha Sheep Centre Piece and DIY Pompom Kaaba.
- Cut out felt ears and nose. Glue to each white pompom so they start to look like bunnies. Glue miniature black pompoms for the eyes.
- Cut a 4.5 feet long piece of yarn. Tie each bunny pompom onto the yarn using the string left at the top of the pompoms earlier. Once hanging securely, cut off the excess string from the top of each pompom.
DIY Felt Carrot Garland
Materials
- Orange felt
- Green felt
- Glue gun
- Gold and white twine
- Hole punch
- Scissors
Steps
- Cut out 6 triangular shapes from the orange felt. Free hand a carrot top design onto the green felt and cut out 6 carrot tops.
- Hot glue the carrot tops to each carrot.
- Make two holes at the top of each carrot using a small hole punch. Thread twine through. It’s important to make two holes – if you only make one, the carrot won’t display the way you would want a garland to.
